Brand new 2017 Audi Q3 Black Edition is replacing the Q3 S Plus in Audi’s most famous SUV model. Given the success of the Black Edition in other brands and Audi’s own models, they decided to make the Q3 version of it, following the trends lately. Audi decided to increase the value of the Black Edition Q3, giving it Audi’s Bose sound system, Bluetooth connect, parking sensors at the front and the back, climate control and metallic paint all in standard package.
2017 Audi Q3 Black Edition – External Body Parts and Inner Cosmetic Changes
There is a lot of new black details added in 2017 Audi Q3 Black Edition’s exterior. The grill at the front is now surrounded in black, the bottom front lip and side skirts are painted in black, which especially on the sides brings somewhat aggressive look. Black mirrors on the side as standard in all Black Edition models, as well as the rails on the roof, spoiler in the back and exhaust pipes all in black. The rear doors and the back also have tinted glass for privacy. The Black Edition Q3 now comes with 19-inch alloy wheels and improved Xenon LED lights.
Interior didn’t get too many new details, apart from the already mentioned additional equipment that now comes in the standard package. Audi managed to elevate the interior by using very few changes. Piano black is mixed around the dashboard, gear shifter and door inlays giving the 2017 Audi Q3 Black Edition a dark stylish interior. Audi also followed the trend of putting gorgeous and high-quality Alcantara leather seats, as well as mixing the leather around the rest of the interior. Comfort wise, the Audi Q3 Black Edition 2017 is very spacious and light on the road for an SUV.
2017 Audi Q3 Black Edition – Engine and Performance
The 2017 Audi Q3 Black Edition comes with the choice of two petrol and two diesel engines. The first petrol engine is the 1.4-liter generating 148 bhp which comes in front wheel drive only paired with the 6-speed manual transmission or dual clutch S-Tronic automatic transmission. The second petrol engine is 2.0-liter with 178 bhp, this time with all wheel drive. The diesel engines are two 2.0-liter TDI engines. One producing 148 bhp and the other 181 bhp.
Performance is known only for the 1.4-liter engine, achieving 0 to 62 mph in excellent 8.9 seconds, thanks to it’s fast shifting dual clutch S-Tronic automatic transmission. The manual transmission is not as quick, but the engine is powerful enough to push the car forwards with ease. Performance is unknown for the other three engines. Important to add is Audi’s claim for its diesel engines being able to do 62.8 miles per gas.
2017 Audi Q3 Black Edition – Price and Release Date
The price range of 2017 Audi Q3 Black Edition is yet undefined, but judging from the previous generation, it should go over 40 000$ for a fully equipped model. Price is also dependant on the engine, for that reason the price could vary up to 10 000$.
Release of the 2017 Black Edition Q3 is most likely closer to the end of the year. Although, it could happen earlier this year since the standard Q3 is being released already.
